Luís Bastos is inspired by the concept of neural networks to create an aesthetic where the contrasts between order and chaos, reason and emotion, are expressed in layers of color and movement. The paintings emerge from a creative process that involves two distinct moments: a first, calmer and more structured, in which the artist works the acrylic in a controlled manner, and a second, more intuitive and visceral, where the dripping paint translates feelings of freedom and emotional intensity.
